The Bates-Hendricks House is an Italianate Villa built in the early to mid 1800's. Former occupants include Thomas Hendricks (Indiana governor and Vice President of the United States), James Woodruff (builder of the city's first powered city water system), and John Coburn (Civil War general and Congressman). 90-minute tours are offered Tue-Sat at 10 AM.
